Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-time coach Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's initial championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

The win also indicates the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.

The opponent rescued four initial opportunities in a close third set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
